Maidana could afford to be awkward cuz he was the bigger man. Reach was about the same for him and Floyd. Like Roy said today, Floyd has a great jab and he has so many variations with his jab and we saw what he did to Cotto and Canelo with that jab. Manny has never faced a fighter who distracts him with the jab so much and the true matchup will be Floyd offense vs Manny's defense. Manny gets discouraged easily and we saw Bradley bothering him with a stiff jab.
Be well my breda, once I didn't see you post, I knew what was up
I agree that Floyd has a great jab but it is very dangerous to jab with Manny because he throws that struggle jab to bait guys to come over the top and uses his quick hands/feet to land his left. Zab dropped Floyd on an attempted jab. For Floyd to win this he is going to have to walk him dowm imo and that's what imlooking forward to the most its going to start a chesdmatch n end a war
that's true. you never know what these guys are feeling inside. the shyt i'm most interested in is which version we're getting from both guys. I been chill this whole time but I can feel the nerves slowly building up. tomorrow night it's gonna be like the day before your moms took you to disney land or some shyt. when I wake up saturday morning it's gonna be .....that moment when they're both in the ring, everybody on their feet, and they're across the ring waiting for kenny bayless to give the signal. nothing comes close to that feeling in sports ......I've decided i'm watching this shyt alone. turned down 2 fight parties already. I love hearing all the commentary, all the pre fight interviews, when they enter the arena. I want no distractions on saturday night.

I think Manny has the perfect weapon for the jab tho. A left hook.
I think Floyd smothers him with pressure. He knows he's the bigger guy but he also knows he's the slower guy hand and foot wise but with greater timing.
I say 7-5 Floyd. If Manny gets a flash knockdown on Floyd, things might go differently.

I mean shyt look at GGG..dude is jovial as fukk until he enters the ring...there he unleashes a ridiculous asswhoopin until he finishes the fight...then he's jovial again in the post fight with the exception of the braggadocio of making his fallen opponents good boys
because chino is not that good breh. you see PAc get hurt by bum ass chris what about against brandon rios.:gang:
its not even that floyd got hit, its the fact that he arguably lost four rounds to maidana (in the first fight). if you the best P4P fighter i the world you should be dominating nikkas like maidana not having semi competitive fights with them
floyd likes to steal right hands a lot vs southpaws. floyd likes to lead with it or paw with the jab and then throw it. when floyd paws with the jab it creates a time frame from the point that the jab has extended to the point that it has retracted back to the body that floyd can steal a right hand which forces fighters to treat every jab that floyd is pawing with like a jab and a right hand and not just a jab even when there is no right hand coming. floyd can steal the right hand at any time during that time frame that the jab is extended and pawing and it challenges the reaction times of fighters because they have to try to guess when to counter or use a defensive move against it for as long as the jab is extended and pawing.
floyd is probably going to try to work the right hand like this against pacquiao a lot.
when you are trying throw the right hand this way you want the right hand to start extending at the same time that the jab starts retracting in one smooth motion.
every jab doesn't have to be a bullet. when you are throwing the jab and creating a rhythm your opponent becomes synced to it. when your jab is retracting back to your body your opponent becomes synced to this and you can mix right hands that are extending at the same time that your jab is retracting in one smooth motion to steal him with it. larry holmes used to do this to a lot of fighters. that was how he knocked out marvis frazier.
when floyd throws the right hand pacquiao is probably going to try to counter it with a check hook
like a lot of fighters that throw the check hook pacquiao has the tendency to get hit when he throws it by the punch that he is trying to counter
floyd has to try to throw the right hand and get underneath or inside of the check hook and pacquiao has to try to create seperation with his upper body or with his feet by moving out to his right when he is throwing the check hook to not get hit by the right hand. when a southpaw is throwing the check hook and creating seperation by moving out to the right the adjustment is to throw a looping right hand and not a straight right hand. this is going to be an interesting part of the fight.
when floyd throws the jab pacquiao is going to be coming in trying to counter it with the straight left hand. the straight left hand causes the head to naturally slip the jab in one motion and pacquiao can come in attacking and defending in one move. the pacquiao style is designed around this counter.
the pattern in a lot of pacquiao fights when pacquiao is coming in this way is that fighters tend to throw the jab a lot more tenatively or not as frequently. this is why pacquiao tends to win a lot of rounds with his work rate. pacquiao opponents stop punching. they stop punching because they don't want to be countered and start to become very defensive.
i think that this counter makes pacquiao very dangerous to floyd because it can take away the jab and move floyd back and become very defensive and inactive. floyd would have to try to use the ring and counter pacquiao coming in and floyd can be out worked trying to do this against pacquiao. this is the pattern in marquez and pacquiao fights and its the reason that these fights tend to be very even.
when pacquiao throws the jab he throws it to freeze you or gives you the jab to create a counter and fighters can have the tendency to get very tentative to try to counter pacquiao when he throws the jab because of this. this is how pacquiao knocked down chris algieri.
pacquiao creates a check hook with the jab and counters it with the straight left hand. when floyd is trying to counter pacquiao coming in you may see some exchanges like this.
i think this fight can go a few different ways but i don't think its going to be one sided. you want to see if floyd can steal that right hand. you want to see what pacquiao is going to try do about the jab and can pacquiao counter it or move floyd back around the ring trying to counter it. i wish i knew enough about boxing to say who was going to win but i don't. but i like floyd.

one advantage that manny has is he has been in with an all time great, floyd cant really say that. the closet is cotto, but cotton aint been shyt since i was like in 9th grade
the manny disrespect is just to me.
like is said earlier in this thread if manny aint in your top 20 of all time, you dont know shyt about boxing
