@Cynic
Diverse in subject matter but he had a limited pool of actual words to draw from....
Pac understood the concept of precision and directness and most of all accessibility....something that's gone a long way in helping his music age like no one else's and given it widespread appeal. The people he made music for weren't exactly english majors either. Moreover, he certainly didn't have a limited vocab, just wasn't as wordy as some of his contemporaries, didn't take away from the effectiveness of the "actual" music and artistry.
There is a reason he's never mentioned in any top lyricists list...
Lyricism, by its very definition, is having a "distinctive expressive style" and nothing to do with having a multisyllabic, rappity rap style and using big words like KGR and Rakim. Nobody had a more distinct diction than Pac, the way he used words like 'HOPELESS' and 'THUG' and gave them subtle, personal meanings, set him apart and makes him of of the great lyricists of his day easily.
That doesn't take away from what he excelled at....
N!ggas are funny....you can compliment 1000 things a person does well but don't you dare point out a single flaw
Y'all ain't pointing out shyt tho and obviously every artist has their flaws, what makes y'all think Pac fans actually think he was perfect?
