I'm rolling with Paid In Full. Cant go wrong with either, but to me the best of Paid in Full trumps Follow the Leader. Subtracting the beat song, each one has about 8 rapping songs. Follow the leaders has its iconic songs, but everything on Paid in Full is classic. Songs like I know you got soul, As the Rhyme goes on are better than Musical Massacre, Put your hands together, which are great but aren't that level imo.

Lyrically I agree Follow The Leader stepped it up, but I also think the production was better on that album too.

I can't think of an album that starts with three tracks better than it.

title song :stylin:
Microphone Fiend :blessed:
Lyrics Of Fury :mindblown:

Exactly, probably the best start to an album I've heard.

Microphone fiend is my fav song between the two, so I'm gonna go with Follow The Leader.

The OG God MC with two classic albums back to back :banderas:

Microphone Fiend :blessed:

Microhpone fiend is probably my fav song by Rakim ever, he was blacking out on that track something serious :whew:

Now I don't want to have to let off, you should have kept off
You didn't keep the stage warm, step off
Ladies and gentleman, you're about to see
A pastime, hobby about to be
Taken to the maximum
, I can't relax see, I'm
Hype as a hypochondriac cause the rap be one
Hell of a antidote
, something you can't smoke
More than dope, you're trying to move away but you can't, you're broke
More than cracked up, you should have backed up
For those that act up need to be more than smacked up
Any entertainer, I got a torture chamber
One on one and I'm the remainder
So close your eyes and hold your breath
And I'mma hit ya with the blow of death

Before you go, you'll remember the scene
The fiend of a microphone, I'm the microphone fiend
The microphone fiend

My fav part of the song, the way Rakim was flowin :wow:

Not on either album, but "What's on your mind" shows how you flip a female oriented track. This shyt would be a hit based off the beginning alone lol

I seen her in the subway, on my way to Brooklyn
Hello, good looking, is this seat tooken
On the A-train, picking at her brain
I couldn't get her number, I couldn't get her name

rakik follow the leader was my favorite song off the album.

[Verse 3: Rakim]
A furified freestyle - lyrics of fury
My third eye make me shine like jewelry
You're just a rent-a-rapper, your rhymes are minute-maid
I'll be here when it fade, I'll watch you flip like a renegade
I can't wait, to break and eliminate
On every traitor or snake, so stay awake
And follow and follow because the tempo's a trail
The stage is a cage, the mic is a third rail
I'm Rakim, the fiend of a microphone
I'm not him, so leave my mic alone
Soon as the beat is felt, I'm ready to go
So fasten your seatbelt, cause I'm about to flow
No need to speed,
slow down and let the leader lead

nobody was rhyming like rakim back in the 80's
