I will say Chat GPT has a point that some people think they are sucessful only because they simply live in NY. Like there's probably people out there living in NYCHA that think they live a better life than a homeowner in the burbs in a southern state

some people probably do. in some respects. elderly people got way more transportation and delivery options available to them, more grocery options within walking distance. more activities and services available to them in some places which gives them a chance to socialize more.

I think it's a matter of perspective on what you want in life and how you want to live.

personally I wouldn't want to be old in the suburbs waiting 60+ mins for EMT if i had a medical emergency.

I see what you mean, ever since I moved to FL I haven't left my neighborhood where been all over the five boroughs without ever owning a car (I used public transit to travel to these places).


But most Coli brehs aren't close to senior age and feel NYC is great for different reasons than you listed. I was born and raised in NYC and did enjoy living there and don't think its overrated or anything like that. But this superiority complex some NYC people have over other regions is crazy. When I lived in NYC I didn't feel superior to people in other regions just because I lived in NY.

You do NOT need 150K minimum to live in NYC. Plenty of neighborhoods in the outer boroughs where you can live comfortably on much less than 150K. Now, if you want to live in Manhattan itself south of Harlem then yea maybe you need to make 150K to afford a studio


Maybe NJ is trash for regular working class people but it's a great state to live in if you are rich. As for NJ women, you are gonna have to ask an actual NJ resident about that


IDK about South Jersey but North Jersey has a high COL just like NYC does.
