Palm Springs (Time Loop Comedy Starring Andy Samberg)

Watched this last night. Fun movie that did a great job blending genres (sci-fi and romcom). I was really starting to get tired of the time loop movies, which might as well be it’s own genre at this point but this did a nice job of exploring it in a new way. Highly recommend it

Pretty good, 7/10 the comedy wasn’t as corny or cacish as you would think coming from samberg. Good cast. Simple fun story.

The first I understood easily because it was basically showing that Samberg and the woman made it through the explosion experiment and went back to that house he called his sanctuary and the family came back on the day after the looped day.

But when that dude Roy showed up at the wedding and Samberg didn't recognize him that was showing that Roy was still stuck in the loop and because Samberg was now out of it the non-loop version of Samberg that was a guest at the wedding had no clue who Roy was anymore.

I was confused by the scene with Roy also but your explanation definitely makes sense. Only thing that was weird was how happy he seemed for Samberg given that he was still stuck in the loop. I’d think he’d be a bit more bitter that the guy who got him in the mess was free while he was still stuck

Roy seemed to have found peace with the day he was trapped in and wanted that for Samberg too after the talk they had in his backyard. So I guess he was happy that Samberg was able to make it out.
And he probably was also happy that the escape plan worked. Remember that Roy said that Sarah told him all the details of her plan which means he can recreate it to escape too.

this movie was great. does everyone respect Samberg now, or not yet? Dude is good in everything. And that chick is gonna blow up from this i think. she was excellent and she's cute as fukk to me. kick Anne Hathaway's annoying ass to the curb and give all her roles to this chick

Don't know about the Anne Hathaway slander , but agree that Cristin Milioti is great and she's been putting in work for a minute. She was really good on Fargo Season 2 , critics seem to love her.

I just finished the movie and thought it was really enjoyable , the exploration of what you can do in a time loop is always entertaining

Right before she heads off to the cave for the explosion at the end, she’s at the wedding after giving her speech and the grandma comes up to her afterward and says something about “now that you’re going to be leaving us all soon” or something to that effect. She looked confused like “oh shyt is the grandma in the loop too” or I could just be trippin. It was never mentioned again so I forgot about that part until right now. Does anyone know what I’m talking about? Lol

I remember that part as well having me like . I don't know if we are supposed to take it as her being in the loop though, maybe like the universe indicating she's on the right path towards growth.
