Yea..it sucks...they were literally the best when it came to Plasma since Pioneer left the game..they took some of Pioneers patents...and Samsung and LG's plasma's is pretty wack in general aside from Samsungs f8500 plasma...which is one of if not the best plasma's on the market depending on what ur looking for...it's the only competitor to. Panasonics VT and ZT series...

Those Samsung plasmas have been giving the best bang for your buck the last few years. Bought my parents a 50 inch for $398 just for me so I don't go crazy without HD when I visit...

Son that TV is only 720p...there's far better that don't cost much more than that at the size he wants...honestly plasma is a better value at bigger sizes...he can go with an LG 42" LN5400 for about $499.99 and it's 1080p 120hz...it's LED but it's gonna be a better tv for the price...if he really needs plasma at that size there's better as well..
