I highly doubt this is a PR move.

It's far more likely that either his shareholders pressured him into stepping down (cuz, the stock value has taken a hit since his un-CEO like behavior started), or he's stepping down cuz the backlash has been stressful for him, so he's wanting to step away from the day-to-day.

Some of y'all put these dudes on too much of a pedal stool....even the rich and powerful can catch relative L's. This is surely one.

Sure it's a bit embarrassing but I thought that we have reached the point where we realize that ultimately these dudes don't care. I deal with these people everyday. They have massive egos for sure and will sue over grudges and are highly sensitive but this is a minor inconvenience. The stock dropping was an L. This is them trying to put a new face on the brand. Papa Johns slumped after his Obama comments in 2012 and he stuck around. He stepped down as CEO in 05 after 3 years of declining sales and was reappointed. Let's not overstate the L of a dude who owns 25% of the company and has fukk you money and who just got a massive tax break via Trump who he donated to. Regardless of what his new title and pay is, the fact is that he talked shyt about the nfl....more specifically black nfl players...and it hit the companies pockets so bad he had to apologize...and when that wasn't enough shareholders and board members told him he had to give up his job at the company so they can try and make money again...
