It's a sequel to the N64 original. Expanded mostly everything and a better game overall IMO

1st game is better.

I feel like Nintendo are going OTT with the remakes but that's probably a sign that they're focused heavily on the new console

Nintendo has a backlog of classics that basically all could be remade and be just as enjoyable if not more.

It's a benefit of focusing on gameplay 1st like they do. I'm glad they seem to be over the sloppy rerelease of a game slightly upscaled for full price trend.

But even with that there is like a generation born in the 2000's that basically missed all the classics probably up until like 2010.

Bout time they started doing some remakes and the Switch is the perfect console for it. After the NES I didn't own a Nintendo console until the Switch and there's plenty of gamers in a similar situation
