Every single individual point is probably true... but honestly if you cant see how an artist could have been 'great' a decade ago, and today be 'decent' well like you said aint any point in discussing nothing really...

I get what you're saying but the reason for his falloff has to do what he did accomplish. Had he not already been an established rap/pop star by 2004 I don't think he would've dropped that dud we call Encore.
So if we are debating about Em vs Pap you have to the compare prime of both.
And while today pap MIGHT be more lyrical he still lacks the ability to make coherent/relatable/great songs which to me is far more important than just straight lyrical ability.
Dr dre said in art of rap that he doesn't care if you have a hot 16 he wants to see how you create music and even if you don't like his music or what he stands for that still is a very good point.

I cant really cosign that one, because realistically:
i may walk into a store and have to decide if i buy paps new album or eminems new album... and as weird as it sounds being that i dont really think pap is that good an all around artist, if a pap album came out tomorrow and an eminem album came out tomorrow and i only could afford one... i would probably cop papoose... which is a REALLY odd place to find oneself. Cuz realistically i dont think papoose is the most 'musical' cat but i really dont think eminem is making great/coherent/relatable songs in 2013. Each person is different, not saying my opinion is gold, just saying thats what i am really trying to get at.

There's a reason why pap bricks and rapper like Kendrick and Em sell more in one week than him and his whole career.
Yes sales don't always correlate to skills but you cannot simply attribute their success to marketing hype and all that because fact is if you know how to make music and you having any kind of sufficient funding you will make it.

Are we being serious here, cuz i dont think papoose is that great a song writer, but i dont think eminem has written a great song in... quite a while. Rap God probably the best song eminem has written in at least a whole album cycle... and thats not really songwriting strength but more so from a flow standpoint. You can like either,neither or both rappers, but i just cant honestly say eminem is really writing great songs these days... from my standpoint the fact that pap is comperable to eminem these days says more about eminems fall off than paps growth
