Believe it or not I actually don't think religion is evil. For example it's a fact that Christianity saved Europe after Rome fell. Similarly, I think Islam might have been the best thing to ever happen to Africa because it connected north and west Africa to the rest of the world , by facilitating the flow of goods, ideas, science , spices, etc from the Arabs(who themselves were connected to both Europe and India)

Thus religion is not a bad thing. It's an institution just like any of our other human institutions that is prone to corruption and misuse .
