Everybody in this thread agrees on a certain set of premises. Such as the existence of the world of the unseen and how it interacts with the physical realm.
If you fundamentally disagree with these premises, there's no point arguing about anything that derives from them. Our point of contention should be wrt the premises themselves.

A lot of what people are calling "ghosts" in relation to hauntings/reoccurring appearances are just energetic imprints playing on loops.
Even while alive, human beings go through cycles/loops of behaviors that they repeat until they shift their perspective to get out of said loops. A lot of "ghosts" are created simply by disembodied spirits, still playing out some of the same unresolved loops that they were playing when they were 'alive'.
Think about some of the shyt you deal with day to day, the types of things issues you get stuck on and find yourself having to re-tread over your lifetime. Think about the frustration that would come with the feeling like you're out of time to process those things, to get it right. That is how 'ghosts' of that variety are created. When you die, you don't all of a sudden go poof, you still have sensory perception, memories, habits...you still have your loops.
Babies and animals don't 'float around' in that manner because they haven't learned how to fear death or attach themselves to shame, guilt and other things that keep you in bound to the physical realm.

I know it's different in Christianity but in Islam, we believe that each human being is paired with a demon, or a personal devil, who acts as his close companion in this life in order to tempt him to do evil. Naturally, these entities know you so well that they can mimick you. When you die, your companion (or Qareen) does not necessarily die with you and can thus still linger on in your old home. It can also take your form.
When people see "ghosts" they are basically seeing demonic reflections of the deceased and not the actual deceased person.
Also, this is why some soothsayers (legit ones, not pretenders) can you tell you some secrets about your life that they couldn't possibly have known. They are getting that information from your own demon whom they can communicate with (through their demon).
My uncle studied in India back in the 80's and made the mistake of going to one of those people. He said that the person told him some things about himself that he had never told a single soul. Even told him about hidden moles on his body. He ran away from that place because of how shocked he was.

The Algerian used to treat people who were possessed, including his own baby sister. Sometimes resentful spirits would try to harm him or scare him by manifesting themselves to him as he was going about his own daily business during the day. He told me this back in 2010 so I don't remember all the details.

The notion that one is 'paired' with a demon (or daemon) implies that one is separate from it's source.
Humans are multidimensional beings, the aspect of you that is described as wise, knowing or genius...that is the soul mind, the soul self. That is what 'soothsayers' are accessing when they tell you things about yourself because we are ultimately all connected. These brilliant scientists, philosphers, mathemeticians aren't getting their 'genius' from brain activity. They are finding means, 'religious' or not to access the soul mind for whatever it is they are trying to apply it to.
Christianity, Islam ect. classify any direct knowledge of self as 'demonic' because they want to be the middle man between you and YOUR source, YOUR soul, YOUR mind.
Experienced sleep paralysis the other day. I never had any weird experience, just would go through the whole feeling like I'm awake but unable to move shyt. I've gotten slightly better at dealing with it, usually just try to control breathing before trying to wake myself up.
Anyways, Tuesday was the first day I had a semi terrifying experience. Was basically half asleep when all of a sudden I felt myself getting dragged. I didn't panic though, just tried to control my breathing and told myself that my mind could overcome the fear.
I usually only get sleep paralysis when I take a nap and have music or the television playing. I take it the sound keeps me half awake and leaves me prone to those episodes.
