I don't feel the school had to even know the child was transgendered. I mean it's always dressed and acted like a girl, even the passport labels it as a female and no one would have been the wiser unless it talks like a boy or told someone.
Female restrooms have locked stalls and no one would have known. I think it's going to be even more weird to see a little dude with a dress and pink hair standing at the urinal.
That is why I think the good compromise was the gender neutral bathroom. Anyone can use it. I am as open as anyone else but I wouldn't want my daughter in the restroom with a child that has male gentialia.

1st grade? smh @ the parents

The stalls are individualized and they have locks. You piss, you wipe, wash your hands and keep it moving. No one should have even know that little girl/boy has boy parts anyway except it's doctor and it's parents. Especially at 6 years old, you can't even tell. Now when it starts to hit puberty and starts growing facial hair or something, you can let the cat out the bag but there was really no reason for anyone to know at this point.

if i found out my son was liking a little girlboy and he thought it was a girl and years later in JHS find out it was really a boy, id be a little heated at the fakery and fraudulent aspect of the parents conning my son into thinking IT was a girl.
you seriously dont care that your kid is being lied to about the friend hes playing with and using the bathroom with? a little 6 year old should wear a dress, have purple hair and have a penis??
wtf kind of mother are you??
At 6 years old, I would hope my child is not concerned about the private parts of her friends and if she is, we have a whole new set of problems. Transgendered children/people and just generally weird people exist and pardon me for not freaking out about it. I"m sorry but I'm not going to get up in arms about it and I'd rather it be brought to the surface so that my daughter and I can discuss it. We can't discuss what we don't know about.
Finding out your jr. highschool girlfriend has a penis is going to be tough to deal with but that certainly doesn't mean life is fukking over.
