I remember the private school I went to (all black staff/students) banned us from having flat tops in the late 80s…I remember we did a school visit and we overheard one of the kids laughing at how corny we were cuz not a single one of us had a flat top, just to show you how wildly popular it was to have them back then lol

Nah. My locs were 3' long and getting caught in closing doors, I kept sitting on them, little kids kept grabbing them, and after 15 years I was just tired of the maintenance, not to mention how long it took to dry them after washing.

Cut them off 3 years ago, but started growing them back after almost 2 years. They're a foot long, now, and that's as long as they're gonna get.​
