Gender roles is one thing but gender itself is pretty clear cut.

Someone can find the link - I can't recall the name of the study -- but years ago there was a kid who was male and raised to be female...or something like that and he committed suicide.

Gender roles when it comes to development in children are only an issue when a child feels trapped in their own body.

Most boys have no problem wearing boy clothes and playing with boy toys. Occasional they may want to pick up a doll but that doesn't mean much....same for girls.
