no teams from the nfc east and north deserve to be in the playoffs
ya'll gotta get outta here with this bullshyt. Its two divisions in the AFC that have been a one team race all year and ya'll choose to single out the nfc east and north when you got two teams competing for the division title

The rules are what they are. You win your division you deserve to be in the tournament, PERIOD. For years a 3rd NFC east team was missing the playoffs because of the competition. Hell Seahawks got in at 7-9 three years ago. Now ya'll wanna cry crocodile tears

fukk out of here breh breh

we were 5-2 before ARod went out. Do you realize 1 man being sideline has given 4-5 other teams life? We wouldn't even have this discussion if ARod was still playing. We would've wrapped up the division and a #1 seed before thanksgiving

Don't mention us. Mention those 2 other lame ass squads

Should be straight up by record. Fick having the Bears or Cowboys in the playoffs.
as much as I understand your angst. I think the way it is is the most fair.

teams that win their division deserve to make it.

the NFL is different because they don't play EVERY team in a season. so its hard to say a team doesn't deserve it becase not everyone faced the same competition throughout the season.

what they do need to do is add two more teams in to the playoffs

Or just stop reward teams for playing in sucky divisions and punish those who play in highly competitive divisions. :ld:

They should have the top 9 teams from each conference in the postseason
The top three from each get a bye the first week then the lower 6 play it off, then the 2nd week the top 2 teams have a bye then it's like normal playoffs

I agree with you that teams with good records should see playoffs but I also like the underdog teams that people don't think stand a chance

There's always going be a least division in any sport. I bet you don't say that when Seattle went couple years ago with a losing record outta ur division. Based off your logic, the eastern conference should basically cease to exist on the nba.

I most certainly said that when Seattle made it in a 7-9 and I am also a proponent of the the NBA adopting a straight 1-16. There is no point in having a regular season if you are basically gonna void certain teams seasons because of where they happened to be placed especially when you are rewarding inferior teams at the same time.

though I do "understand" your argument….I have no pity for a team that can't win their division AND can't a wild card berth

Came here to post this, this was the season I felt division winners were dumb, a 7-9 team :what:

But they clearly were able to beat the SB defending champs, tho no one wants to see something like that, playoffs are another beast and time and time again, the hot team wins.

at the end of the day, there really is true parity, especially at the super bowl level when you look at the 2 teams competing

Its not parity its mediocrity none of these teams are that good and every team is highly flawed even the best ones

A hard cap guarantees different teams every year being good because teams rosters change drastically year to year.

The only way you can be consistnetly be good in the nfl for a long period is to have a Brady or Manning without them youre gonna be good one year bad the next

The NFL product is dramatic but mediocre

That's not parity...that's blatant stupidity. No way should teams with inferior records ever under any circumstances make the playoffs over teams with superior records. That shyt isn't cute or exciting...it's dumb.
Meh...the Eagles beat the Cardinals earlier though so who is inferior?

Breh if you gave the Jags or Bucs or Rams a home playoff game, especially against a team notorious for having road struggles they could probably steal one, that doesn't mean 4 or 5 win teams belong in the playoffs. It's not about pity, it's about logic. If team A wins 10 games there is no reason why they should be outside looking in while team B is not only in but playing at the crib with 9 wins.
