I was surprised they even came this close to releasing him. I'll never forget waking up that morning as a child, getting ready to leave for school, and finding out RFK had been shot. I still remember seeing the footage that morning of him laying on the ground in the Ambassador Hotel.
I saw a '92 interview this pass summer when they was considering granting Sirhan Sirhan parole, where he said why he did it. It had something to do with the Israeli and Palestinian War in '67. Knowing what I know now, I understand his anger, even though neither of those groups belong in that land. He said he killed RFK because he supported Israel, after practically worshiping him before that. But all of them supported Israel. Shooting and killing Kennedy, of all politicians, and knowing his brother was assassinated, was a bad choice. Watching how his brother was assassinated as President should have told him the Kennedys didn't have that kind of power when it came to the higher ups.
