owning a house or a car isnt necessarily the ultimate indication of stability or status.

i would say its more about the assets you own. either assets that produce income (potentially passive income), or assets that appreciate in value.

you could be a high net worth individual and still be renting a home/condo/apartment and taking public transit..depending on where you live :yeshrug:
not everybody wants to be a homeowner.

anyway some ppl take these type of trips just to escape from their menial quality of life for a bit.
gaining an understanding of sacrifice and delayed gratification is important for these type of ppl.

Starter homes out here for +500k, the used car market is rivaling the new car market, we in a recession, food prices are skyrocketing and OP trynna shame ppl for how our money is spent. :russ:

nikkas is out of touch. Stay off instagram, its not reality. Most of those ppl 🧢 for a living. The average American cannot afford a new home, getting a affordable car is a gamble, knockoffs will never go out of style, and vacations are vital for ppl working themselves to death. Many jobs will even force you to take vacation.

Our culture of living to work has been slowly killing us since the late 60s.

No one with a busted ride or apartment in the ghetto are a pair of Jeezys or Off-Whites away from financial prosperity. What we need to be doing is educating these poor urban millennials and Gen Z'ers on what to do with the homes they are inheriting after their parents die.

Yea, just save up and buy a house, how hard can it be? :troll:

:mjlol:
The funniest part I've seen people that will pinch pennies for years. One friend that couldn't even go out to eat lunch without asking his wife cause they were saving for a house. No vacations. No leisurely activities. Then after all that once they got the house they had to start saving up for renovations and to furnish the house. That was about 7-8 years gone by of saving money just to say they own a house. fukk all that. That's 7-8 years of experiences.
EDIT: I just remembered the friend that was doing all of that ended up in the crazy house for a couple months. The therapist he was assigned told him he needs to relax and take a vacation as that all work no play mentality lead to him being too bottled up. It was so bad my job was afraid to fire him because they were worried he'd kill himself.

I don't own a house yet but have a stable car that's paid off. Take 3-4 major vacations a year. And have enough money in the stock market that if I pulled it out could easily lay down a deposit for a new house. To me life is meant to be lived.

Now the designer clothes and expensive cars is personally dumb to me but hey however people define their own joy is not up to me.

So you just going to pull a price out your ass huh 250 round trip? DCA to LAX is 650
I live on the east coast with the closest huge airport being 3 and a half hours in Atlanta. I've flown to Venice, Barcelona, Vegas, LA, New Orleans, Dallas, Hawaii twice, Puerto Rico, Aruba, Cozumel, and Jamaica and the most I've ever paid for a ticket is 550 and that was only due to upgrading my ticket. If you know how to plan right and look out for deals traveling can be done for a decent price.

I'm in a LCOL area, my boy bought his home in 2018 for $60k and now it's supposedly worth double, meanwhile I'm out here I'm tryna stack for something when the goalposts keep moving, now it's $80k houses going for $255k and these corporations buying up rows of property to tear down and build apartments instead:francis:

people save up half their lives for a house and then go to the real estate agent's office and get hit with the "oh those are the old prices :troll: it's double that now  "

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
And I also believe people should live life how they enjoy it.

Some people who wear designer don’t give a sh*t about cars and don’t mind buying a regular car or in some cases using a bike.

Going to be hard to have this type of convo with someone who has a love for fashion
