This isn't exactly true if you're in the right industries. The Japanese automakers send Americans over to Japan all the time to work there (not permanently though).

Watched other vids where he’s interviewing the people that live in those places.

It’s crazy how perception changes everything. Some of these people are really grateful and make use of these spaces like it’s nothing.
