Its not really about getting to this point... Its like, when you start drinking, you always feel like you need another sip of alcohol, even when your drunk. And since it takes longer for your system to register more alcohol than the speed at which you drink, you won't feel til later that you should have stopped drinking maybe after the 3rd drink.
Its kind of like when people eat edibles, your digestive system is slower than your respiratory system, so when you eat edibles, it takes longer for the affects of weed to take place, so then you eat more edibles when what you had was good enough
