It’s crazy because it’s easy to retrieve a complex password with pw managers. I tried showing my moms and she didn’t want to be bothered.

That's why I save all my passwords to different sites in my Google Password Manager so that whenever I can't remember a password or if I get a new phone, everything is connected to my Google account, so I don't have to worry about remembering.
