Idc how :flabbynsick: I sound but this new music is the devil and Im not just talking about rap either. Reggaeton got every bytch wanting to cheat on their man with the next dude in their dm’s…..

Yeah we grew up with rappers taking about drugs and violence but the music had soul. If anything at the end of the day we knew these rappers were just entertainers. The music is clearly different these days.

With that said we can’t just solely blame music for the way Ja is acting. There’s many more factors at hand…substance abuse, social media etc. Hopefully he smartens up and keeps being special. He’s clearly blessed and can one day go down as an all time great player. He can be a source of inspiration for so many people. I hope he comes back stronger than ever and I actually hate the Grizzlies.

The unknown
People want to blame rap for everything, in the 70's nikkas was shooting at each other with AL green playing. Me and all my boys been listening to rap since birth and even with us not coming from a great neighborhood majority of us have never served time ever or act like we would shoot some shyt up.

The biggest problem in the community is parenting not some rapper who majority of the time don't even believe the shyt he says.

It's great you and millions of others didn't let the negativity in certain rap influence you. That doesn't mean it had the same effect on others...
Also parenting can be better but the music that's pushed to the masses can as well. Why can't both improve?

These I didn’t do anything listening to this type of music arguments are annoying.

Good job

But quit acting like what we consume doesn’t influence us in some shape or form. A lot of people are impressionable and lack common sense, especially young people.

Sure you listened to gangsta rap/ drill music and didn’t wild out.

Those goons in your local hood is not bumping Harry styles

Yes...after listening to Ready to Die and Reasonable Doubt in JHS, I too began to sell crack and bust my gun indiscriminately

Pat Bev is the point guard pass around of the NBA

That's why his ass was crying last playoffs for making the play in, because that hoe thought that he'd finally become a housewife :camby:

What did he do to you Exo :picard:

Beverly has been shipped around the NBA like Uhaul truck past 2 years he's reaching to stay relevant by making controversial takes like this. Remember this guy grew up in the Chi which is notorious for gun violence. Wonder if he blames music for that as well rather than root causes.
Lol, is this really a controversial take? This isn’t a new idea

LOL @ a grown ass man saying another grown ass man is being influenced by some crash dummies to become a crash dummy
It's laughably ridiculous and yet it's actually happening. Popular culture is immensely influential. The more we run from this reality the less we can affect it.

the NBA marquee player and black community/black family icon would disagree :yeshrug:

Yall nggas are pathetic

The difference—-obviously—-is bron is damn near 40. Also the difference between the music now vs then is there is now more of a street prerequisite and that you live out your rhymes. Nggas back then were around killers and thugs. Nggas now ARE killers and thugs. Labels were secretly backed by gangs. Now the labels ARE the gang.

Then you throw in social media pressure as a multiplier.
