Because we are social beings, and society depends on cooperation to the fullest extent possible. Denying someone services for something they cannot possibly alter is placing subjective intolerance above objective existence. There is NO objective reason why it should be allowed to occur in a society, it's all a matter of subjectivity. Thus, why not go with the route that provides the best path (not perfect) to harmony? Most businesses do not exist in a vacuum. Most utilize public utilities, facilities and infrastructure and are bound by the same social contract.

The NBA has no choice but to eliminate blacks...hell, the MLB avoided it as long as possible. I have NO DOUBT they'd revert to eliminating minorities as much as possible if they honestly could.

I'm not asking the government to change anyone's mind or the behavior inside anyone's private property. Be as racist as you want, but as soon as it enters the sociosphere in a form of legitimate discrimination or hostile action, then society as a whole has the right to deem it unfit. There is a social contract, do you understand what that implies? We already tried the "let racists use labor or provide whatever services they want in any form they see fit" phase. It didn't go so well.
