I'd guess FanDuel wanted out/couldn't make it make sense anymore and he was able to walk away from it whenever he found a new deal.

I guess that because this is what's happening with Manchester United. TeamViewer signed up to be their sponsor when their business was booming in covid and now realized they bit off more than they could chew and let them out of the deal early. But they still have to pay up until United finds a replacement.

But basically, they let them know the writing was on the wall.

If y'all peep a lot of these streaming guys have suddenly signed new deals on the wake of the crtypo bank crashes. That whole sector is intertwined, but now you see dudes leaving the new platforms and signing with traditional players.

I've only seen a few clips of his show but man...I just want to say I'm so fukking tired of Fanduel, Draft Kings, and the nonstop infection of sports talk with betting talk. There was a time when the most bet talk you'd hear would be Al Michels making a line spread joke.. Maybe you'd hear about it on sports radio in the context of "this team is the favorite to win." Now it's nonstop, and exhausting.

Obviously, I know absolutely nothing, but a lot of those huge deals people were signing with streaming services were similar to old record label advances, in that the money wasn't just to go directly in someone's pocket. That 120 was also likely covering production costs, studio setup, etc.

I'd guess that the deal with ESPN would actually make them all employees, meaning there's a solid chance he's actually getting paid $10 million a year straight up, and they've rolled all the other production coasts and salaries for everyone else on the show under their own umbrella.
