Wait...Is that photoshopped or is that really him?:dahell:
I guess with the traffic issue but still for security reasons + him being a public figure i wouldn't expect celebrities to risk dumb disgruntled fans approaching them in public like that.

Somewhere along the way Phil bought into his own hype and that stopped him from putting in effort. He truly thought that it was HIM that won those rings with the Bulls and Lakers, not having all time greats on the roster. While Riley openly acknowledged having great players helped him out, he was still willing to grind, traveling to go see college players. Phil couldn't be bothered to see Lonzo Ball and DeAaron Fox when they were playing IN HIS HOUSE, deciding to go see Shaq's statue unveiling 3000 miles away, which was made even more stupid by the fact that your team needed a point guard and two of the top three PG prospects are right there in ya building.

Phil is in it strictly for the money....

Pat still actually takes an interest in the organization. I dont agree with or think all of his moves have been good one but I still feel that he is checked in on an organizational level

BY THE WAY.......this season is a big referendum on Riley and Spoelstra.

Phil nobody gives a fukk about now

He did play one the biggest parts in the Bulls/lakers dynasty

Phil took his teams to the finals 3 straight finals 4 times 1991-1993. 1996-1998. 2000-2002. 2008-2010.m. Phil could have had 4 three peats if the lakers beat the Celtics in 2008.

Phil has 3 3 peats with two separate teams and neither Jordan and Shaq won shyt till he got there. The bulls won only 2 years into Phil coaching.
When Jordan retired Phil bulls were still contenders.

The lakers? Phil won a ring his first season with them and again, he went to 3 straight finals with them twice
In fact, when Phil quit his job over whatever beef he had with kobe. The lakers didn't even make the offs. Phil came back and the lakers were in playoff team again although they ran into Steve Nash suns. Pau came and the rest of was history

Jackson took over a talented Lakers team and immediately produced results as he did in Chicago. In his first year in L.A., the Lakers went 67–15 during the regular season to top the league. Reaching the conference finals, they dispatched the Blazers in a tough seven-game series and then won the 2000 Finals beating the Indiana Pacers
Phil Jackson teams dominated the 90s and then the 2000s. 6 final appearances in the 90s and 7 in the 00s.
Even when Jordan retired, Phil bulls were still contenders.

.so while the talent was definitely high. Must remember Jordan wasn't a champion to Phil. Shaq or Kobe weren't champions until Phil either

But this isn't a referendum on Phil's coaching ability; what I am driving at is that at some point afterwards Phil, as an executive, decided to rest on his laurels. It showed through in how he dealt with the media; the famous quote, when asking about his detractors, was "who are these people? do they have 11 rings?" So Phil clearly thought that because of his 11 rings, he didn't need to answer to anyone or explain himself, or even travel to see talent. Pat was still willing to grind and put in work, despite his history as a coach. Phil outchea falling asleep on the job and talking slick about his players, but everyone is supposed to bow down because of the rings.

I dont think many people would question Phil's accomplishments as a COACH, doggy. We're just saying his heart wasnt into it to be the president of a team with all the work that comes with it.

Look at it this way: The cat was content to be out in a cabin in Montana and had to practically be begged out of retirement to take the Lakers job the second time. Then it took a whole lot of money to get him to leave Montana again and come to NY for the presidents job and even then he said he wouldnt travel with the team. Which shows you his heart wasnt into it.

Meanwhile Riley went to Miami and had to build the teams he coached himself. He came ans traded all of our players back then and went and got Owens, Mourning, Hardaway, MashBurn, Eddie Jones, Bryan Grant, Odom, Shaq, LeBron,Bosh and the list goes on and on of players he had to trade for or sign. He had to get these players to get the rings that he could show to others.

Meanwhile Phil thought he could half-ass his way into similar success. He should have just recused himself and said his heart isnt in it or it's too much work. Dan Marino did the same thing when the Dolphins wanted him as president. Came in and two weeks later he said it's too much for him and doesnt wanna not give 100% and resigned
