Why would any individual voter pick Butler? It's not like there's a committee that says, "Let's give Butler 1 vote cause he played hard." Every voter makes their own choice, and it's obvious they gonna choose the best player on the winning team unless there was an overriding reason not to....especially when the best player on the winning team also looked like the best player on the court overall.

Iggy: 16-6-4 and the W
Bron: 36-13-9 and the L
Step: 26-5-6 and the W

This ain't a case where the best player on the losing team came close to the best player on the winning team....the best player on the losing team FAR outplayed anyone on the winning team. Every single person on Earth knew that Bron was the best player on the court all series long, and he nearly pulled off the upset if the Cavs hadn't eventually collapsed under the effort. THAT is why Bron was MVP on 4 ballots. There was obviously an argument for Steph too, but the poor shooting, poor defense, and 5 turnovers/game did him in.

I agree that Dragic basically missed the whole series. But Bam's "garbage" 4 games were better than anyone Bron was playing with in 2015.

People are going to take missing Kyrie and Love for the entire series as a bigger deal than missing Dragic for the series and Bam for 2 games. Especially since Cavs still nearly went up 3-0 even without Kyrie/Love but no one thinks the Heat were going to win whether they had Dragic or not.
