I respect Riley even more for it. You can't run. If LeBron didn't like it I'd say he's a little sensitive, you gotta have some guts

Problem is its incredibly hypocritical. This is Rileys 3rd stop and he ran from coaching until Shaq and D Wade were in tow then ran again. Not to mention many accused Bron of running down there.

At the end of the day Riley knows if they beat the spurs Lebron probably woulda stayed. Another player bounces from a team courtesy of the gawd Timmy

The look on Duncan's face, I have a new-found respect for Duncan.

Not entirely. Mickey have him what meddling James Dolan refused to, and he has been in Miami since 1995. He hasn't always been the coach, but he's always been president. Not a totally accurate comparison.

that press conference was just a horrible idea, in retrospect, it was embarrassing :ld:

im sure it made Bron's decision just a lil easier
Riley grew up in the old school i'm guessing he knew this was what Brons camp has been thinking and tried to reach Lebron himself in another way

Bron is a very sensitive dude thou and his people control his life nothing Pat could of done really

i think even if we beat the spurs his people were set on going to clevelend and becoming ohio "legends" this has been Rich Paul's mission since 2010

Micky, Erik and I remain committed to doing whatever it takes to win and compete for championships for many years to come. We’ve proven that we can do it and we’ll do it again.

I know this part is true for sure. Pat has his faults and weaknesses. He does a lot of dirt too no need to sugarcoat it. What he did with SVG was fukked up.

But the man can build teams that compete for titles and has done it in 4 different decades (Lakers, Knicks 1994, Heat 05-06, Heat last four years) spanning over 30 years. How many teams would want Riley as an exec right now, even after losing James? A lot.

I know. Point is he has not been the greatest example of sticking it out and not turning and running. I am pretty sure he wasnt talking that same shyt in 2010.

Nah I don't buy that, he was forced out in LA.

He would still be in NY if Dolan gave him the role Arison did, and NY would probably have seen another 'ship since the Bee Gees were hot.

The best argument is the SVG shyt and by all accounts Shaq basically forced him back or he would quit on the team...which Shaq later did 2 years later
