Actually there are things that are off limits in battle rap. This is nothing new, many battlers have made things off limits..and its usually respected. Math Hoffa has things he won't accept being said from his opponents. Also....Goodz also set a line for his opponents to not cross.

:wtf:Battlerap IS the streets. This extra disrespectful stuff is some new school stuff. When folks were battling on the block, you could get drug for saying the wrong things. I been there and done that...I seen it all.

Disrespect in battle rap had gone on forever

I tried to listen to him on Angryfan but he was contradicting himself like a motherfukker. Talked down on Calicoe for getting physical with him, saying he's a professional, that's not real, blah blah blah
Then 10 minutes later says if Hollohan came on stage with Charron, there's a chance that Hollohan would have gotten beaten to DEATH, because him (Pat) and his boys don't play that, Hollohan cosigning Charron's allegations would have made Pat's hood look bad, blah blah blah.

Clown shyt.... yeah we can say Cal was being extra but stopping caping for this Pat Stay guy...

:scust:Listening now

Maybe "street" dudes do it differently in Canada, but he comes off as a wigger.

Pat Stay just looks the part. That's it. He never felt that type of pressure, because you rarely see dudes going around trying to press someone who is 6'5/6'6. I'm starting to believe Cal's intentions weren't even to win the battle, but to expose him as a wigger. Between that battle & this AF interview, I would say he accomplished his mission. :mjlol:

@Big Jo

Let's think about this. Could this really effect Pat Stay? What he has going for him is he's white. Imagine if that happened to a black emcee? It would be so much worse. You can't be black & get punked throughout an entire battle.

EDIT

Saga is an exception to this obviously.

Yeah. And you know what I noticed? He sounds a lot like Dizaster with all the contradictions & rambling.
Dude said he shooed away some stick up kids that were eyeing his Jordans at some point during the interview. :heh: I really want to believe he was joking with that, but I don't know man....

:russ:That was in the beginning of the interview. It's like he was trying hard to prove he's a street dude. Almost selling himself.

He lacks believability.

I don't know. It's hard for me to believe this isn't a rap persona.

I feel like that WE can see through it, but I don't think KOTD fans are capable of seeing through it if they've never been exposed to a certain environment & just believe the character this guy created.

They can't see it because they need a hero. They don't have any real street hardened dudes over there. Loe Pesci & Bender were doing that NYC backpack rap type of style that spawned off many of the members of Team Homi, but they aren't even really built to survive in that environment. I mean Daylyt completed ended Loe, dude was a big name over there, but he's forgotten about now. Hollohan was their closest thing to a tough guy, but he's an emo drug addled mess.

The level of disrespect in battle rap wasn't happening like this until Post SMACK DVD era. The only reason people say the things they say now is because folks are signing contracts and getting paid. When people were on the corner battling for free with their crew of people behind them.....you really think they would let someone clown a dead loved one...or a disabled family member? This stuff didnt start until money got involved.

Pat won 2-1, but I'm not too sure how I feel about him not doing anything to Cal. At least handle it after the battle or some shyt, maybe outside of the event.

I'm 5'9/161 and idgaf who you are, you're not gonna put hands on me and get away with that shyt. Idgaf if I KNOW you're gonna beat my ass and fukk me up, I'mma let you know what's good after the battle.

Pat's done a BUNCH of interviews and radio shows the last couple days trying to save face

"I wasn't nervous, Cal wasn't gonna do anything. I just wanted to make sure something didn't pop off between our teams"

"Cal didn't intimidate me, I just didn't write good material and didn't have time to memorize my bars"

Whether or not what he's saying is true, it sounds like he's copping pleas. He definitely realizes he everybody thought he was shook

Wow, most of yall are more worried about who punked who and how this person did nothing when he got hands put on them, blah blah blah.... who the fukk cares? A lot of yall watch these battles with the mentality of young WWE fans who think wrestling is real, just hoping that their favorite battlers are really bout that life since they rap about it. I couldnt care less if Pat Stay swung on Calicoe or not, I just watch for the performance and bars. Actually, unlike some of you, I like it when battles go down respectfully, no hands, no fights, just words. I think any battler who gets extra disrespectful mid-battle to obviously provoke a fight, is just looking for the easy way out because they feel like theyre losing, with exception to the dizaster/hoffa battle because diz fought after he finished his round. But anyway Pat Stay took it 3-0 imo. Definitely not the best from him, some shyt was weak and corny, but he did have the crowd into it. Calicoe said nothing impressive. Just your average "I'm black battling a white guy, (insert eminem/8mile reference)" bars.
