Didn't know much about her before the Unsung episode, but I knew she was known as a musical genius. Always loved the music on her songs, but didn't realize how much she played and wrote on them. Basically a set of jazz people writing dance music, with her playing all of those great keyboard and organ chords and solos. Great attitude she has and had early on about her blackness. Didn't realize she was a Soul Train dancer either. Music industry didn't know what they had. Should have just let her cook. When you have Stevie Wonder on your Unsung and people like Prince writing songs about you, you know that's a great artist.
