What the hell do we do with Aqib Talib?

Dude was our best CB, and when he is out of the lineup our secondary is trash. But shyt man, dude is going to want 7 to 10million per. Can we really pay that type of money to a man who cannot stay on the field?

I am really at a lost of what to do. Dude when healthy deserves the money, he is great in the locker room. But shyt man, he is going to take up a lot of cap space.

I am leaning to pay the man, but I am nervous.

What y'all think..

Money was invested into the O, but one dude went on a killing spree(a 8million dollar dead money cap hit) the other had his knee destroyed. Beli will never pay big bucks for a WR, it is what it is. As much as I dislike it, fukk I dislike it.. :snoop:

EDIT:AHern is a 7.4 million dead cap hit next year not 8 million.
plus they spent that money on the fake wes welker, when they could have easily gave it to the real one

Beli is not drafting a CB who can walk in and be a lock down corner next year. I am leaning towards the Pats have to resign Talib. Clean up the OL in the draft. fukk, there is just not enough cap money to go around. Ugh.

Meh, Welkers production was picked up by Edelman. The Pats can structure a deal that pays Edelman low money the first year, and be able to cut Dola the next. the slot position was the least of the Pats problems this year.

Agreed.

Which leads to a whole different question. Do you take the money you would pay for Talib, and instead use that money for the Bengles Michael Johnson. Who the Pats where going to go after hard last year before the bengles franchised him?

I would say keep him if the money is not ridiculous. We've all seen how this pass defense looked like without a legit CB circa 2009-2011.

Welker had zero difference on the out come of this game and they got here without him.
he caught a big first down

and anytime wes is on the field u have to give him attention, our offense wasnt close to being complete when we had tamme/cladwell running the slot

I am actually content with our WR core. The rookies played to my expectation(Would have exceeded them if they stayed healthy). I think Dobson Thompkins Boyce is a good foundation.

No, what we saw today was why the Patriots lost ever other playoff game in recent memory (aside from Gronk's injury), when it comes down to it, we cannot man up and just beat the guy in front of us. It is all scheming. If we can't completely outscheme you, we lose. We did not outcoach the Chargers in the 2007 AFC game, we just beat them. We can no longer win those types of games. Bellichek just admitted in the post game that Denver had too many weapons for us to match up with. So not only that, but also do not have the fire power to keep up with them. Are you seriously implying that the New England Patriots, wait and groom WRs (FYI: Thompkins is already 25 and was only good in two games this year) while Tom Brady is 37 years old....are you kidding me...

This isn't like they have Gronk and Hern to take the pressure off. Gronk is injury prone, Hern is in jail and that leaves Edelmna. Boyce has shown nothing this year aside from speed. The comment below is literally directing contradicting everything you just said

Even without him your defense held that Broncos offense to 26 pts at home. Meanwhile your offense only scored 3 pts through 3 qtrs and only started scoring once Denver basically went into a prevent. Pressure on Brady, his inability to connect when he did have opportunities early, and a lack of impactful skill position players hurt you way more than Talib's injury.

Edelman is 6'0 barely, there is less margin of error in throwing him a deep ball. The Pats better go see what Nicks has left in him. Brady should've hit him, but that's still not a legitimate deep threat. As for the Patriots defense, you are in correct. They only gave up 26 pts because they allowed Denver to have these long time-consuming drives which kept the Pats offense off the field. The Broncos literally had two different 7:30 minute drives. That is the same bend but don't break time of defense we've been bringing to the playoff for years. That's not going to cut it when you don't have a quick strike offense. The Patriots couldn't even utilize their hurry up this year like they've used it in the past because the offensive weapons and center are not yet acclimated. Well, the center just needs to go....he's the worst player on the team.

Well that's not true. His illegal pick play took Talib out of the game. I will have no remorse when he gets lit up in the SB.

Anquan Boldin is a free agent once the season ends. I don't know what kind of money he'll demand but he'd greatly improve the Pats immediately.

I see people type this all the time, isn't it "at a loss"? Is there an alternate education system that teaches people phrases like this?

I miss the fukk outta Dan Koppen. We need a BC Center again.

RE the bolded, YES. And if Ahern never went on a murder spree, and Gronk stayed healthy that plan would have worked out nice. Dobson eased into the X, Thompkins a great find as a 3WR, Batshyt crazy hype on boyce . Unfortunately things did not go as planned.

Bra, I am happy with this WR group. Like I will say many times over they met my expectations. And they should have never been the focal point on this years O. But shyt happens. And I am pretty pumped about next year with them..

OL TE our my main concerns on this team.
