Pau Might Be Gone

Pau Gasol will become a free agent in the offseason and has not ruled out a return to the Memphis Grizzlies among what will be many options for the veteran power forward.

“It’s appealing,” Pau Gasol said. “One of the best centers in the NBA, one of the best interior players, is my brother. There’s a lot of attractive factors there. But who knows if that’s even a possibility or if that will ever happen. Right now, I’m just trying to focus on (the Lakers’ opponents) and staying healthy and playing a very successful year so this team and others will have the certainty and the confidence that I am a difference maker, that I am an elite player and I have a lot of years in me.”

Gasol's brother, Marc, was an NBA All-Star in 2012. Pau Gasol spent his first six and a half seasons with the Grizzlies.

“If there’s possibilities of being in a place that has those type of chances, it’s something I will think about,” Gasol said. “But, again, I’m not in that position yet. I’m here. We’re just kind of guessing here. We’ll see. We’ll cross the bridge when I get there. No rush.”

Pau is averaging 14.4 points per game to go along with 9.5 rebounds and a career low 41%from the field.

Pau is just falling off. There's nothing anyone can do about it. His FG% has fallen every season since he arrived in '08.

He was at 59% in '08 and is down to 42% this season.

FTAs are down, PPG, PER, etc, etc.

I ain't stress enough how dumb Mitch was for not trading Pau sooner. I know he got debacled with CP3(I still wonder how great those two would've been) but he still shoulda made moves. Stop gettin fooled with those short spurts of brilliance dude is done.

The thing is, he's regressed so much and so quickly, he's crazy if he thinks someone will give him an offer more than $8 million per season.

I remember just 3 years ago at the beginning of the 2010-2011 season when Kobe was out because of his knee and they were coming off their last championship, Pau was playing like a legit MVP candidate and then after all-star break he fell off a cliff. Just mind boggling. He was decent the year after but since the Olympics last August he's been average at best and horrible defensively. He was never a strong defender but he atleast rotated well.. Now he can't even do that. I think he's a headcase.
