according to many the DG trade sunk the ship. imo its the easiest excuse for some pacer fans to find but doesn't seem like the most valid reason.
the slide imo began jan 22 @ phx. from that point until feb 19 pacers went 8-6. two of those wins were very fortunate @ sacramento and home game vs Portland. pacers easily coulda went 6-8 and that was with danny.

this team started buying into its own hype.
the nba team on mission documentary aired jan 17 right before the WC trip. PG went on Kimmel & had off the court issues, Lance went on his all star campaign.. and the team started posing for GQ, and theres also a rumor that Hibb's had some marital issues which no one I believe can validate.
Bird nailed it with the march article when he said some of the guys were not 100% focused on their jobs. several factors lead to the pacers coming apart at the seam.
yet all your gonna hear is that Birds an idiot and that its all due to the DG trade which is simply foolishness.
