It doesn't matter. Indiana will match whatever is thrown at George.

They'll try to extend him this year and if they can't the same thing that happened with Hibbert last summer will happen with George.

Plus, Granger's contract comes off the books so they will have flexibility.

they can pay george, but I thought the pacers were adamant about NOT paying the luxury tax. which I believe they will be approaching if george and hibbert are on max deals, and u got west making bread.

this plus indiana has almost the worst attendance in the league which makes me believe they ain't about that spending either since their team isn't generating major revenue.

Paul George with a max extension starting at $13.5 million will have Indiana about $6 million below the salary cap of $60 million (assuming it goes up there according to reports out there).

Indiana isn't even going to be close to the luxury tax for now. David West will be off the books by the time George's deal really kicks in.

The Pacers will probably have a payroll in the $65 million range next year once they have their pick signed, and they go into free agency trying to find a couple pieces.

No way the Pacers will let him walk so him saying this is a moot point unless he just signed the one year deal and then bolted town. But how many players actually do that? He will take that max contract the second it is offered like most players usually do.

Paul George would find it tough to snub the Los Angeles Lakers should the team attempt to sign him next summer.

George will be a restricted free agent after the 2013-14 season if he doesn't sign an extension.

“My heart is still in Indiana ... I’m still a Pacer, and hopefully I remain a Pacer,” George said when asked about his upcoming free agency. “I'm happy where I’m at.”

A native of California, George was born in Palmdale and grew up cheering for Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.

“Of course it would be tough (to say no to Kobe),” said George. “You’re talking about playing (at) home.”

Butv who wants to play with Kobe?

Real nikkaz know what it is. :obama: 5* thread. What kind of GOAT C gets sh*tted on by some CAC b*tch on camera anyways? Ain't no b*tch azz nikkaz allowed in LA :pacspit:

It would be even tougher to figure out a way to convince the Pacers to not match whatever the Lakers would offer. More like impossible. Dude might as well buy a house in Indy, he's going to be there for awhile.
