I think the Pacers would accept a deal of Ingram and Deng for George. I might even throw in a future 1st round pick to sweeten the deal for the Pacers. The Lakers have done a good job building up Ingram's value by pretending that he's untradeable. The Pacers would think they are getting back a young talented player to pair with Myles Turner. For the Lakers, they could use this deal to off-load Deng's terrible contract. This would give them a 27 year old all-star that is in his prime while also giving them cap space to land another max player in the summer of 2018.

For all the Lakers fans that think Brandon Ingram is special....GET OVER IT. Ya'll also thought the same about D'Angelo Russell and we saw how that turned out. Brandon Ingram AT BEST will be a Tayshaun Prince clone. 27 year old Paul George gives you better value than Ingram ever will. And this would be a great chance to off-load that Deng contract so that you can be even bigger players in the summer of 2018.

If the Lakers make this move, they will be a contender by 2019.

Will he be better than Paul George?

If not, you make that deal. I think Ingram is at best another Tayshaun Prince. That isn't gonna be better than what Paul George will give you the next 5 years. Lakers gotta make that trade right now and give themselves a chance to sign LeBron in 2018.
