HE WAS AHEAD OF HIS TIME.
If he would've stuck with his 97-98 playing style before he fell in love with the three and didn't work as hard on the boards, he would've had a better career. At least he got a ring tho.![]()
nikkas tryna hoe Cyber Toine? Employee #8 was fun to watch during his time with Pierce when he was giving the inside/outside combo. He was legit handling and pulling like a guard, which was rare at that time.
And it undermined how talented he was. Employee #8 could really handle the ball, pass and post-up. Never completely focused on the court though.
If he played today and took the game serious, he'd really thrive, imo. Today's style would really suit him.
Derek Coleman was ahead of his time
Yet he’s a career 33% 3PT shooter. Tell me you didn’t watch Toine play, without telling me.![]()
he'd shoot at a better clip today purely off the fact that modern offenses realize how important that type of thing is and utilize it betterNone of that analtyic bullshyt would tell you what exactly what was going on. He was good enough from 3 that you had to guard him, a couple percentage points be dammed, I saw the shyt with my own two eyes. He would feast and probably shoot at a higher clip in todays game because it would damn near be expected.
