Kobe was 17 when he got drafted and wasn't by any means ready. Shaq could've very well competed for championships in Orlando with that team. They went to the Finals in ’95 and won 60+ games in '96. He went to LA for the entertainment stuff (music and movies), not because he was chasing rings. Even with Miami, they were breaking up the team and LA chose to keep the younger Kobe, so Shaq was traded.
I know history.
I’m not says my he joined him to win, but after the fact he played with one of the greatest players ever.

I’m gonna get labeled a Bron rider, so I’m sure I’ll regret this…

But Bron saying he hates the influence ring culture has on legacies and NBA discourse doesn’t conflict with his ring chasing. Just because he felt the need to chase rings to embolden his legacy doesn’t mean that he liked the culture, it just means he acknowledged that reality and took action.

Well said. I don't understand why people are internalizing and conflating what Bron said to fit whatever BS narrative.

Embarrassingly weak mindset. Now rings dont really matter? This dude formed Brotron Super Teams for every franchise he played for, just to get…. rings.

He really tries to rewrite narratives and history right in front of us, and sadly his fans will follow him blindly. Next he’ll say the player with the best stats should be the GOAT. Stay tuned…

his mentality is bad for the game. Lack of competitive spirit
