Nets might as well trade KG now and get some young chips for him...eat some of that contract and send him to the thunder for picks and Lamb :manny:.. They can pick up Boozer for cheap now anyway.
this is exactly what they need to do

If the Washington Wizards’ decision to budgetarily hold the line on Trevor Ariza Saturday didn’t tip their hand on Durant ambitions in the summer of 2016, their move to land Pierce in free agency later in the day sure did.
But make no mistake, this isn’t conjecture anymore. It’s real. The hiring of David Adkins, who coached Durant in high school, from the University of Maryland’s women’s team as assistant coach to player development for the Wizards this past week isn’t a coincidence.

The building blocks are being put in place now. Ariza is off the books and Porter, who is playing on a rookie scale contract, is a much cheaper option. Nene, who will make $26 million for the next two seasons, will be off the books as well.

So what had been whispered or at least kept to a low roar evolved into some full-blown rumbling Saturday.
Man, '16 cannot get here soon enough. :blessed:

So we traded 3 1st rounders away, and decided now that paying him would be too much? Jesus what a fukkup. KG should just retire at this point and put the icing on the cake.

I enjoyed watching Pierce play, he may be past his prime but he was a big part of our turnaround in 2014. Wizards fans you got a nice deal here.

I like how we aren't even making the playoffs next season according to some . 2 years ago a core of Lopez, Williams and Johnson won 49 games with Reggie Evans and Gerald Wallace playing 30 minutes a night. Evans and Wallace might be the 2 worst players in the league right now, and they started on a 49 win team.

Same core guys with Jack, Plumlee, Teletovic, Kirilenko off the bench is now not even a playoff team in the East? We ain't great but let's not act like that team can't win at least 40 games which is all it takes in the East.

Hopefully in a year or two, Billy King gets fired, he's the WOAT.

I mean, what's not to like about this deal for either party? The Wizards need playoff experienced players and while he can't run like half of that roster, he can create his own shot and score in the half court when the game slows down in the playoffs. That elbow jumper alone could help them win a series, and they didn't overspend to get it.

I love the move.

:mjlol: @ Pierce changing that Pacers-Wiz series

With Pierce's awful defense, PG goes for a 30ppg average in that series

Pierce went for the team in the East that the had best chance at beating the Cavs in a series.

Great move.

LeBron has been the kryptonite for the Wizards for a long time. Wittman is not a good coach and I doubt that he'll develop a gameplan to slow down LeBron. And honestly I'd say the Bulls have the better chance at beating the Cavs.
