“Our political discourse, it did not used to be this bad, and it does not have to be this way,” he said. “We don’t have to accept this, and we can’t enable it either…We should demand better from ourselves. We should demand better from one another.”
So he says all this but will he and other republicans support Trump as nominee and further enable him?
I love how Ryan acts as some pious lawmaker who is above the fray when he is very much a part of it and has benefitted from it like it or not.
I mean what really is the point of this speech/apology. Good for you for realizing your ignorance, but like most of GOP he is a lot of talk with little actual laws and actions to show. He has all these "ideas", and with majorities in both House and Senate, his party can't even (rather won't) legislate. But Ryan wants to stand up there and talk about the toxic political discourse of 2016, when it's nothing new and has been the trademark of his party for years. Just pathetic.
