It is an edgy take. Nobody's saying Paul Wall isn't dope, but nobody looks at Paul Wall as an elite MC. There's a difference. Future makes bangers, but he's not going to be looked at in the same light as a J. Cole or a Kendrick. Future fans aren't looking to push Future as some great MC because that isn't his lane at all. Nobody's looking to Future for lyricism even if he makes better music. Same way, nobody's looking at Paul Wall for lyricism even if the music is perceived better.
