I didn't hear it but I assume he took a major hit to his main demographic (women) due to the rampant misogyny in the previous album.

He has always come off as a "lover" in his music, that blurred lines didn't reflect that...nikkas don't care about him simpin over his wife, and the women that normally would have bought it were disgusted at how he acted toward "Paula" before he put his nuts in her purse.

Tough break nikka :yeshrug:

the problem is he just dropped this album out of nowhere with any real promotion before it's release. he just seemed to put it out with any momentum built up before it's release

That too.

prosper any where on earth
yeah he's white..but the music wasn't really that great....suddenly dropping an album wasn't the best idea tho.. I guess the label thought they would capitalize off this... Most albums that are made out of pity. NEVER DO WELL... ONLY BREAK UP MUSIC .i.e. ADELE ..Mary J ...Keyshia Cole...

yup yup(c)teddy riley

i remember hearin' from many older heads such as my mom and dad, that here my dear was viewed as a vanity project by marvin back in the day

yea, Marvin did it out of spite because the judge said that the $ from his next project HAD to go to his ex. So he did a bunch of tracks and kept it very real about the relationship.

yup, lookin' back it was a brilliant artistic move by marvin. marvin was followin' his heart and expressin' himself through his music

that's what it's all about, this was before artists would just play into the marketin' game of usin' a situation like this to sell records and all

ain't nothin' like that music that comes from the heart and soul of artist :whew:
