From what I've been seeing on social media, it seems like the field is oversaturated and there are huge layoffs and outsourcing. Is this still an optimal field to try to pivot too as a 31 year old with no experience? If not, what sector of Tech is untapped and needs employees, that also offers that big salary and remote capabilities.

Also, I am connected to tech recruitment and yes the market is over saturate. After years and years of telling kids get a STEM degree the majority of them are in tech but the entry jobs are tough and it doesn’t help people are getting into the field from Bootcamps.

If you have experience and actual degrees you can always off load yourself to tech related jobs at smaller companies or non tech orgs Or businesses But the salary isn’t nearly as good.

For people doing bootcamps only….. it’s rough to get your foot in the door.

Entry level definitely. If you stand out with projects and can actually get an interview you should be alright.

If not become a top tier hacker and go work for the Russians. Get paid either way.

If I was you and had to learn from the jump though maybe I'd look into a more traditional trade.
