I still maintain that the reaction isn't nearly the same.
There doesn't appear to be some white cultural affinity for someone "appreciating" their art/music.

And I'd argue that AAL and many "progresive metal" bands are just Jazz Fusion bands rebranded. So in a sense it's black music, chopped out of it's original context and put over
metal rhythmic underpinnings.
