I heard it you could get it from unsanitized wrestling mats. Which is why 4-16 Lil white kids would get it all at once and everybody had to be on alert. There was the local rumor that it could spread if kids weren't washing their football jerseys and cleaning their pads, and abrasions/high impact/mixing sweat with other players during play could cause a spread.

I know these white boys on my block growing up used to play in dirty ass water/puddles after it rained so they always had it…they was always nasty tho…remnants of the old neighborhood who were too poor to “flee” when we started moving in…teeth were black and rotted down to the gums…ringworm was the least of their troubles…anyway my cousin son was like 2 at the time so I had no idea how he got it and she told me the shyt after I was holding him and play fighting with him
