That’s probably true, but I mean alcohol helps me socialize and have fun with people. I’ve always been introverted, but being sober these last 4.5 years has made me super introverted. I’m only fun to hang out with when I’m drinking unfortunately.

Those are things you tell yourself but they don't have to be true. You make the final call on who you are. You aren't a victim of circumstance to your own personality. If you want to change you make that happen. To say that you have to impair yourself to be social and have fun doesn't even sound right.

I’ve, unfortunately, experienced opiate, benzo and alcohol withdrawal. Benzo withdrawal was by far the worst.

Opiate withdrawal sucks, you feel like you have a bad flu, but that’s it and it ends in a week.

With benzos you shake, your legs and face go numb, you feel like the life is going out of you, your body goes through “zaps” (mini seizures), AND it lasts for 6 months. I felt like complete and utter shyt for 6 fukking months. You can’t live any sort of normal life during this time. shyt was fukking terrible. I thought I was never going to get back to normal. I thought my body was so used to benzos and I’d never get better. I felt as if death might be easier. 6 fukking months of this. fukking terrible

Alcohol withdrawal was like a cake walk compared to benzos. Like little kiddie shyt

When I was in rehab, every nurse and counselor said benzo withdrawal was the worst of any drugs. shyt is so true
