IT's a damn shame so many of his prime years were wasted rotting in Minnesota. Even though a lot of that was caused by his contract, the rest of it caused by the Joe Smith bullshyt.

If not for Lebron, KG would probably be the most unique talent I've seen in the NBA. His defensive impact has always been remarkable. It's been a relief that he got a ring and people can stop downplaying how good he was.

With that being said, I defended this bony witch-doctor looking fukkhead for years, but even I have to admit he's a goddamn bytch. For years I watched him start shyt with smaller guards or europeans, even teammates, while getting his ass handed to him by TD and Dirk. There' something off in his tiny head.

Great player though.

Great player just was never a fan. Always thought he was overrated.

He was probably underrated most of his career. If you watched him play in his prime, he could fill in every deficiency on his team. He would set back court screens to get his guards free, he could hit 3 pointers, get blocks, guard perimeter or post players (except the good ones :ld:) and would not care about his stats.

He used to get ripped because his teams were garbage. Every year he had a decent team, his team went deep into the playoffs.

KG to me is the classic jack of all trades, almost like a 7 foot version of Scottie Pippen who was given his own team for 12 years. He's good at everything and all time great defensively but IMO not dominant offensively to be an ideal number one option. His playoff scoring and efficiency(especially compared to other all time greats)leaves much to be desired.

For most of his playoff career he was only putting up 20,21,19,22,18 PPG type performances on mediocre to down right bad efficiency. That's good but I'm not gonna win a lot of playoff games and series if my best player is only giving me 19 points per game, doesn't matter how good defensively he is. Unless the team has 2 other all star level talents like the 08 Celtics.

Yeah, but building a team around KG is very easy. KG + old ass cassell plus sprewell was close to the finals. If cassell hadn't been injured, the timberwolves could have won it all.

The idea of number one options is a bit silly anyway. The 2004 pistons showed that it's not necessary. And it's easier to find a Melo or an AI than it is to find a KG.

KG great player but just like Wade got overshadowed by a greater player @ the same postion in his generation. But :salute: to KG/Duncan/Bean the last of the true stars before these hipsters took over

Who did they beat the though? A trash nuggets team led by rookie Melo? What was left of the kings with Cwebb on his last legs?(who were terrible defensively)

Cassell was arguably the best PG in the league in 2004, plus they had Spree who had a great season

And The 2004 pistons Had 5 Quality starters and played Historically great defense. That's pretty hard to assemble

To put it in perspective KG has 10 30 point playoff games in his entire career. He's never scored 40 in a playoff game, he's never had a series where he's averaged 30 PPG. That's nowhere close to any other all time greats
