Everyone disagreeing is NOT paying a mortgage

:lolbron:

The part about flexing is because the hoops you have to jump through to be able to pay a mortgage, anyone can pay rent

I'm someone who likes to move around though. My city is huge and I don't want to be stuck in one place just yet. Also I love to explore and in between leases I usually travel for a few months and I'm not paying on a home that's not getting use while I do so. Renting gives me options a mortgage doesn't.

Pull the curtain back with some of these mortgages and you'll find out they house poor. People fukk it up taking the maximum loan they can. You'd be surprised at how many people dont factor in other bills when accepting that loan.

Legitimately the happiest person I know has been renting the same spot for like 15 years :manny:

He stays traveling and hiking around the world, and his family is cool with it so :manny:

Put his daughter through college too on his own dime, nice ass spot too close to the mountains overlooking the ocean :hubie:

I'm all for home ownership(even multiple homes if you can), but you never really own the home. Refuse to pay property tax once and see if you truly own it.

I'll knock that house down before I lose it to property taxes.

My Uncle is the same, never owned a house. Has lived in an apartment his 40 plus years in this country. Put 2 kids through, private schools and George Washington University also.

He just didn't want the hassle off a home

Yep, property tax is the most demonic tax in my opinion. An old lady could have paid her house off decades ago, but her property tax could skyrocket because her area is becoming gentrified, to the point where she can't afford the tax and get her house taken away.:francis: You never truly own a house in America.

How much was her taxes?

Neither is a flex, if you're walking around with little to no cash to fukk around with. Far too many folks with mortgages are walking around tighter about their money than you would think.

Leaving your kids a paid off house >>>

People don't even think about their legacy anymore, sadly.. Its me me me me, now now now now.. Especially black people.. Talk all this wealth gap bullshyt, but move in a manner where they're not even trying to fix the shyt.. Whether you rent or paying mortgage, invest out of your own pockets into the community in which you live..
