I need your help and opinions.

I plan on expanding my gaming setup by getting a new PC with a triple monitor setup. I want to get 3

monitors mostly for sim racing which should be able run with no effort. But If I was to say...
try to run BF4 on Ultra settings across 3 x 27", 1440p monitors
nQ9n6Ua.jpg
would it run at over 60fps?

These are the possible specs:
Processor: (CPU) Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-4770k (3.5GHz) 8MB Cache
Memory: (RAM) 16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X BEAST DUAL-DDR3 2400MHz X.M.P (2 x 8GB KIT)
Graphics Card: 2 x 3GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 780 - 2 DVI, HDMI, DP - 3D Vision Ready (overclocked)
1st Hard Disk: 120GB KINGSTON HYPERX 3K SSD, SATA 6 Gb/s (upto 555MB/sR | 510MB/sW)
2nd Hard Disk: 2TB 3.5" SATA-III 6GB/s HDD 7200RPM 64MB CACHE
Power Supply: CORSAIR 1000W RM SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET

SIDENOTE: When are the new ROG monitors dropping

You are not going to be able to get anything to run across 3 1440p monitors at ultra at 60fps. That's 7.5K. Not happening, not even with 3 cards (4 maybe, maybe).

Everything looks good. The Power supply is good. Could even go a little under if you want, but not if you're gonna put in more cards.

If you really wanna rock 3 1440p monitors (and I've looked into this myself), you're gonna have to go with quad 780s sli or, more likely quad 780ti sli

You're probably looking at 5760 X 1080 like most of us surround users. With 780 sli you'll be able to play most things at ultra but not all. I'd recommend 780ti sli.

You're shooting for the moon with the tri-1440p. That shyt really isn't feasible without spending a shytload on graphics cards (like crossfire 295x2 or something like that)

@Winston

Maybe wait for the 6gb 780s that are coming out. You'll want that extra vram

EVGA Announces 6 GB GeForce GTX 780 Graphics Cards

I'm personally leaning toward that in sli, 780ti sli or just waiting it out for the 800 series (I currently run nvidia surround off my 690, which is starting to be a little :flabbynsick:)
Thanks, what would be better 3 x 6 gb 780 or 3 x 3 gb 780ti and what would I get from these setups performance wise? Also is this setup overkill for sim racing or nah?

We'd still have to wait for the benchmarks, but I'm going with the 780tis on this one.

If the 6gb black is any indication, the extra vram probably won't matter:

Even if you're chasing the very best gaming performance, GTX Titan Black is a waste of money (though we're sure that still won't stop some people buying four). Pre-overclocked GTX 780 Ti cards will outperform it with ease, and even stock cards have a tonne of headroom for extra performance. For now, the 6GB of VRAM does nothing to boost performance in games, even in demanding triple screen and 4K tests.

And yes, 3 way sli is overkill for sims. Those games don't have demanding specs. I was able to run dirt 3 at the highest settings in 3 monitors with one 5870 back in the day.

You only need the 3-way sli if you are playing the more graphically intensive games (Crysis 3, BF, Far Cry 3, etc.). If you're just going with sims, then just go 2way sli. But, I have a feeling once you experience 3 monitor godly-ness, you'll wanna play every game like that though :wow:
