Hmmm PC elitist rhetoric. What does that have to do with what we're talking about daze? :jbhmm:

This is gonna be an unpopular opinion but I have a few gripes with mouse and key board.

1, is uniformity. Meaning all mouses have different weights and sensitivities and accuracy. And if you want to game well you'll probably have to invest in a gaming mouse with the right weight for you. Ergonomics and accuracy. Where as consoles you all start with the same controller

2, adjusting settings and 360 movement. I hate getting the acceleration the way i like and swiping and lifting or holding at the edge of the screen to do 360 movements. I realize the joysticks work the same way essentially. I just find holding a stick to the right to turn around to be less cumbersome than lifting and dragging or holding at the appropriate edge of the screen.

3, arrows keys. While the mouse gives you a greater degree of accuracy. The arrow keys limit your lateral movements to essentially an 8 way directional pad. Think Cbuttons on 64. Im sure there is some sort of thumb stick to use in conjunction with the mouse. But again that's even more investment.

4, they gonna hate this one. But I think the mouse is accurate to the point where I actually don't like it. Sounds dumb but to me it's almost too easy to just point and click on things. Technically it's better but for some reason I prefer the mastery of the sticks. I just feel like point and click is borderline easy mode for FPS. I know games like BF4 have recoil bullet spread and drop etc. I still just never got the same gratification from point and click shooting.

I'm trying to figure out why moving the console around is so important to you. never the less, a PC can be small and portable too

This is the dumbest thing I have read here in a long long time, clearly expressing you have hardly - if at all - any beyond beginner level PC experiences.

I'm a big pc gamer, and I use my x1 controller for most games. But FPS get the mouse, no question. Same with city builders, etc. Most of the console ports play better with a controller. They were designed that way, so they are easier to use. I played Witcher 3 and Dragon Age: Inquisition with a controller for example (which some might call blasphemous).

But like you all said, it depends on the game. Playing a FPS with a controller though? :camby:

most people use WASD, but what you're saying is true. it's also easier to control movement speed with an analog stick. that's why I play most third person games with a controller

those of you saying that aiming with a mouse is too easy/accurate must be forgetting that controllers need aim-assist

:camby:I played Wolf 3D in DOS when I was 8 years old. Played counter strike a decade ago. Played Starcraft religiously. Played wow. Have played countless first person games on PC over the years. BioShock. borderlands. Skyrim. Counter strike. Team fortress. Serious Sam. Quake doom. Feud ex. Crysis. Far cry. Etc. Point being I've played FPS games on PC 20 years plus.

I fully acknowledge superior accuracy with the mouse as far as aiming is concerned. I just personally get more gratification out of mastering the controller as opposed to using the mouse. Is that really that dumb?

You disagree that a greater degree of accuracy makes aiming easier?

I already stated the mouse is technically better. Never argued that. Just explained my preference.

I fully understand why people prefer the mouse and its benefits. I just don't personally prefer it.

@daze I turn auto aim off when I can.
