nah, he's just saying those cards aren't "next gen" as far as PC hardware. "next gen" pretty much means "top of the line", and that's this:

Buy EVGA GeForce GTX 680 Superclocked PCI-E Graphics Card

well really 2 of those, or a GTX 690 (@$1000 usd). or many other combinations of 600 series cards. the point is, with PC's it comes down to how much money you want to spend. and you can spend A LOT chasing the "top of the line"

you need to just figure out more-or-less how much you want to spend, and go from there

and no one has mentioned you might have to also upgrade the psu (power source), especially for the higher end vid-cards

gah damn i was not prepared for this rabbit hole. sound like unless i put down 1k imma be chasing a dream. i like video games love em but im not tryna chase the dragons tail to play em. think ill go with the 7870 n n jus dream of what could have been on sum type facial expression.

Liquid and Daze are cheap bargain hunters friend. Be wary if their advice as you'll likely end up in a swap meet. I also own the GTX 680 and trust me its worth every penny. I run mine with an i5 and it fukking screams! Plus it uses less energy than my gtx 550 it replaced. Amazing piece of tech. Far Cry 3 is going to look amazing in this bytch...

if all you have is one 1080p monitor, that card will be great for at least a couple years

If I buy BF3 for PC will I have to buy the DLC maps all over again even tho i already dropped $15 per map pack on PS3?

Yep. I signed up for premium on the Xbox version before I saw the light and moved on to PC gaming. Having to re-buy all the maps again is the reason I haven't bothered copping BF3 on PC. I might as well wait for BF4 at this point

I remember when I was a kid tinkering around with PCs and I found a 81 MB hard drive laying around, I thought I was the man. I used to love building PC's back in the day.... having to install Windows 3.1 off like 12 3.5" floppy disks and shyt, installing the 486 processor... back when the CPUs didn't require fans.

Then when windows 95 came through and crushed the buildings, I literally had to beg my parents for a CD-ROM drive to install it.





I don't care, I look back on the pre-NT kernel era with rose-tinted goggles.

win 95 was so bad tho, looking bad 95 and 98 had TERRIBLE security issues at least NT was ok, from which xp basically rose anyway.

it basically took microsoft dozens of years to even begin to match unix security, which is simple and yet so good.

on win 98 you could create all kind of malware programs and task manager would be like I know nothin'

I miss those days because without widespread internet and shyt, knowing my way around computers meant a lot of fukkery was goin on in school and other places
