but you'll also need new memory (DDR4). that LGA775 mobo might be rockin DDR2

it's just lookin like you'll have to upgrade almost everything in that $250 build, so it's really not worth it. that gpu is decent, but you will probably want to upgrade it. you might be able to use the psu and case, but they're probably as old as the cpu/mobo

better off starting from scratch with brand new shyt IMO

And by what you saying 150 for a newer motherboard and a DDR4 for another 100 is not that bad of a gap, i wanted to initially invest 1000 into a PC

Youtube is literally flooded with thousands of videos on how to build a PC. It's like legos. shyt ain't that hard. I stopped building, cuz it was an annoyance I could pay to remove, but I've built my fair share in the past. Just go to Tom's Hardward, OCN, or Youtube and you'll find out how to do everything....step-by-step.

Building a PC is one of those things where either you wanna do it and thus will take on the task of learning it(built a PC within a week including research, ordering, and building), or you don't.

Set a budget, do ya Googles, and you straight.

Back in the day I had that processor. It was a beast but it's pretty old now. So is that graphics card. For $250 its ok.
