You'll get closer to 60fps. There also might be micro-stutter with your cards.Damn so the consensus said its not worth it. I mean my gpu can handle everything ultra and high just was wondering how it will change gameplay.

Nvidia does it better.

From what I've read online, one powerful card>>>>>>>>>>>>SLI/Crossfire.
It seems like crossfire/SLI support isn't as widely supported and comes with annoyances to get it working sometimes.
Plus less heat and less headaches.
Your 290X will do you fine for now. You could realistically run 4K 30fps on newer games(granted some games may demand you lower settings to achieve 30fps).
1440p 60-75 fps should be the deal for PCs now and consoles next gen.
Basically 2K/Quad HD.What is 1440p resolution?
2560 x 1440What is 1440p resolution?
Your TV probably doesn't support it I don't think. You most likely need to buy a 1440p monitor. What is 1440p resolution?

The difference in 1440p isn't that much compared to 4K (especially since you'd be using around a 27" monitor), and you'll get better fps. 1440p is where it's at right now. Much better than 1080p, without the humongous fps drops you'll see at 4K with just one card.
you can set up the Steam overlay to display fpsWhats a good program to measure fraps? I use fraps but sometimes it doesnt appear when I am playing
That doesn't mean it supports 1440p. My Samsung 4K doesn't. It goes all green and flashes if I try 1440p on it. It's 1080p or 4K. 1440p isn't a typical tv resolution. It's normally associated with monitors. My tv goes up too 4026 I have it. Edit meant 4096
